    Help Menu

    The Help menu contains license and user information as well support resources.

    Online Help

    Click the Online Help button to access documentation for the current window open in Acctivate.

    Software Updates

    Opens the Acctivate Downloads page.

    Calculator

    Opens the calculator installed on your computer.

    Contact Support

    Open the Acctivate support web page where you can access support resources and create support tickets.

    Remote Support

    Open the Remote Support page where you can enter a remote connection code provided by an Acctivate support rep (by appointment only).

    View Log Files

    Select the type of log file you wish to view:

    • Exception Log: The exception log contains all logged activity for the workstation, for the day. Exception logs older than one year are deleted automatically upon logging into Acctivate.
    • Web store sync log: The web store sync log contains information from the last web store sync log performed by this workstation. For more information, see the web store logs documentation.
    • Shipping workstation log: The shipping workstation log contains information from the last shipping workstation sync, e.g., ShipStation, performed by this workstation.
    • QuickBooks sync log: The sync log contains information from the last QuickBooks sync performed by this workstation.

    After selecting the type of log file, choose a Log date and click View, or click the Open Folder to open the folder for the selected log type.

    Tip

    Logs are written on each workstation to C:\ProgramData\Alterity\Acctivate\Log.

    View Current Users

    Displays a list of users currently logged in:

    • User: User ID of the logged in user.
    • Company: The Acctivate company that the user is logged into.
    • Workstation: The workstation name where Acctivate is logged in from.
    • Logon time: The time (using the server's clock), in which the user logged into Acctivate.
    • Version: The version of Acctivate the user has logged in with.
    • OS: The operating system of the user's workstation.

    The number of Active users and total licensed users are displayed at the bottom of this window.

    Log off a user
    Users who are system administrators will have a Log Off User button. In the View Current Users window, click a user row to select it and then click the Log Off User button.

    It could take approximately one minute before the workstation is logged off. The workstation will see a message that says "You have been logged off by a system administrator. Acctivate must close"; clicking OK will close Acctivate.

    Warning

    Users that are forced to log off will not be given a chance to save their work. It is recommended that you first ask the user to log off.

    View Usage Metrics

    During the installation process you are asked if you want to send operational statistics to Alterity, Inc. to help improve Acctivate (you can manage this preferences at any time through Acctivate Database Maintenance).

    If you've opted in, the usage metrics here are transmitted during the database verify process or when the Refresh button is clicked in this window.

    Users with the System Administrator permission are able to view the Acctivate company's usage metrics.

    What's New

    Opens the What's New window.

    Contact Sales

    Opens the Acctivate sales team's "Contact us" web page.

    Current Promotions

    Opens the Acctivate Promotions web page.

    License Information

    Opens the License Information window. Each module you are licensed for can be found here.

    • If new modules have been purchased, you can click Refresh to update the license information and enable the module (the license is periodically checked upon login, so this step may not be necessary).

    • Click Close to close this window.

    • Click the View License link to open the Acctivate End User License Agreement page.

    • The No internet connection? link can be used to process the registration when you don't have an internet connection. An active internet connection is required to run Acctivate. Contact the Acctivate support team for more information.

    • Click the Remove License link if you wish to unregister your copy of Acctivate. Acctivate caches the license information including purchased modules, number of users, etc. The license is synchronized automatically with our server periodically.

      The Remove License function will permanently delete the cached Acctivate license from the computer. This function is only available for licensed copies of Acctivate.

      Remove License is not necessary for transferring the Acctivate license to a new computer. Acctivate will automatically register on the new computer and remove the license from the old computer.

      To remove your Acctivate license:

      1. Click Remove license
      2. Confirm you wish to proceed.
      3. Enter your license information and click OK. Your license will be removed.

    If you've removed your license, the Help Menu option will change from License Information to Register Acctivate. Clicking Register Acctivate will open the registration window. Enter your Acctivate ID and Password to complete the registration process.

    If you've removed the license and logged out of Acctivate, the login splash screen will have a Register Acctivate button.

    About

    The About menu option will display the Acctivate splash screen which displays the current version of Acctivate.
