Price Check

Acctivate can accommodate complex pricing structures that consider the quantity ordered, date the products are ordered, the customer's default price code, customer specific pricing and more. You may need to be able to quickly determine the price that applies to a customer without creating a Sales Quote or Sales Order. The Price Check gives you the ability to enter in some data and generate a sales price.

A price check is only used to assist in computing the price a customer would pay based on the existing pricing rules in effect. There is no way to save a Price Check or convert it into a Sales Quote or Sales Order.

Perform a Price Check

The Price Check window can be accessed from the Sales menu:

  1. Select Price Check from the Sales menu at the top of Acctivate.
  2. Click New in the window that appears.
  3. Type in or lookup a Customer.
  4. Optionally, select a pricing Contract.
  5. Enter or lookup the Product ID. Enter the Quantity ordered.
Note

Depending on your pricing structure, you may need to set or modify other fields in order to generate the correct price. For example, if your pricing is cost based, changing the W/H could result in a different price calculation. Likewise, changing the quantity or price unit (Pr Cd) can result in a new calculation.

Tax is not factored into the prices displayed.

Price Check Fields

Field Field Type/ Length Definition
Customer Text / 41 Characters Required. Use the Magnifying Glass to lookup and select a customer.
Company Text Displays the company name.
Phone Text Displays the company phone number.
Bill to Address Text Displays the bill to address.
Contract List You can select a customer pricing contract.
Price Code Text Displays the customer's Default Price Code.
Invoice Discount % Numeric Displays the customers Default invoice discount percentage.
Terms Text Displays the customer's default terms code.
Product ID Text / 159 Characters Use the ... lookup button to open the product lookup window, or type in the Product ID.
W/H List Some price types are cost based and costing is calculated at the warehouse level, so changing the warehouse can impact the price.
Description Text / 4095 characters The product's description.
Quantity Numeric The quantity of the product that would be ordered. Acctivate supports quantity based pricing, so ensure this quantity is correct.
Unit Text This will default to the stocking unit.
Pr Cd List The price code will default based on the pricing rules assigned to the customer, however you can manually override this if you wish.
Price Numeric The price will be calculated based on the customer's pricing rules and information provided. You can manually override this price if necessary.
Unit List This is the price unit. This can be changed as necessary.
Disc Numeric The line level discount percentage. E.g. 10 is interpreted as a 10% discount off of the line amount.
Weight Numeric The weight of a stocking unit.
Length Numeric The length of a stocking unit.
